The Warriors have not seen the Brandon Wheat Kings since just after the January trade deadline. A deal between the two clubs was one of the biggest of the 09/10 season, sending 4 year veteran Travis Hamonic to the Memorial Cup host city.
Friday night will be the first time the Warriors will play against Hamonic and his tough team mates in Brandon. The Wheaties sit near the top of the Eastern Conference with 94 points, battling with Calgary and Saskatoon for the number one spot. Moose Jaw has lost to Brandon twice in a shoot out, stole one win at home and suffered three losses this season.
Brandon has four players with 70 points and up. Schenn, Calvert, Lewandniuk and Fehr lead the way for the Wheaties in scoring. Brandon is coming off of a 5-3 win over Saskatoon. The Warriors head into Friday night coming off of a shoot out loss with the Tigers.
