TRANS-CANADA THRILLER

The Warriors not only scored a “dog gone good goal” with the Moose Jaw Humane Society tonight; they scored one of the dog gone craziest this season. With the score tied at two a piece in the third period, a delayed penalty was being called on the Warriors in their own zone on Nathan MacMaster for tripping Eberle.  The Pats pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker, at the same time Jordan Weal passed back to Garrett Mitchell on the blue line. The puck took a home bounce over his stick and towards the empty net. The home town crowd went nuts as it inched closer to the net, Pats forwards Matt Strueby tried a diving stop but it was too late for Regina giving the Warriors a one goal lead.

Colten Teubert tied the game on the ensuing power play. With under ten minutes to go, Quinton Howden fed the crowds hunger for a victory slamming home a loose puck in the Pats crease. From there Jeff Bosch held down the fort, making 30 saves—most of them being in the third period.

Dylan Hood had a strong showing, adding a pair of goals in the first two periods. The Warriors now move into a tie for 7th place in the East Conference with the Swift Current Broncos. Although, the Warriors do have three games in hand. The Raiders are one point back of Moose Jaw and Swift Current while the loss puts the Pats in dire straits, 7 points back with just 9 games left.

Next up for the Warriors Wednesday, Saskatoon who lost to Chilliwack Tuesday night.
