ROAD TRIP BEGINS
The Warriors will embark on their US road swing this afternoon and their first stop will be in Cranbrook to take on the anything but "cold" Kootenay Ice. Kootenay has been tearing through the standings and won their last meeting with the tribe 2-1 on February 3rd.
Tuesday night will be the final meeting between Moose Jaw and Kootenay. Kootenay currently holds down 4th position in the East with 73 points. The Warriors are hanging on to 8th place with 60 points, sandwiched between the Raiders with 61 points and the Broncos with 59.
The Warriors top scorer, Quinton Howden has wracked up 57 points and has 4 points in the last 3 games including a pivotial goal to send the Warriors into OT against the Red Deer Rebels Friday night. Thomas Frazee has a goal in each of the last 4 games along with 2 assists. Dylan McIlrath, along with increasing his pentalty minutes has 3 points in the last 3 games.
The Warriors are 2-1 against the Ice this season. Watch for former Warrior, Todd Matthews in net as he played well for the Ice last Wednesday. Kootenay's Hayden Rintoul leads the Ice with 3 points on the Warriors. Keep an eye on young Warriors Connor Cox and Nathan MacMaster who have been contributing on the ice for the team. Spencer Edwards had 2 assists in Friday nights game and will look to continue to his efforts on the road.
