WARRIORS SELECTS GARDINER IN 3RD ROUND

The Moose Jaw Warriors have selected defenseman Ryan Gardiner of the Winnipeg AAA Sharks with the 52nd overall selection in 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. Gardiner played in 27 games scoring six goals and totaling 16 points and registering 77 penalty minutes. The 6'0" and 170 lbs. rearguard was selected after the Warriors completed a deal to move up and get him. The selection came via trade with the Prince George Cougars who receive a 3rd round pick (62nd overall) and a 6th round pick in 2013.

"Gardiner is a puck moving defenceman with offensive ability. He is solid a puck handler with good defensive zone awareness who plays with grit and toughness," said Rob MacLachlan, Assistant Director of Hockey Operations.
