Friday night the Moose Jaw Warriors will kick off the 2012-2013 Western Hockey League regular season when they take on the Swift Current Broncos at Mosaic Place, and plans are in place to make it a memorable night.
“We are very excited about the start of the regular season and the festivities taking place during our home opener,” said Warriors Director of Business Operations Corey Nyhagen. “As we get set for the Rise of Planet Red this season, we’re encouraging fans to come to tomorrow’s game a little early and be part of the pregame show.”
The Mosaic Pre-Game Show will begin at 6:40pm; it will include the introduction of the 2012-2013 Moose Jaw Warriors, as well as the “Rise of Planet Red”. There will also be several special guests in attendance for the celebrations, Warriors Governor Darin Chow and President Chad Taylor will unveil the clubs 2012 WHL East Division banner, and Quinton Howden will take part in a ceremonial faceoff.
Fans will also see the Conexus Warriors and Legends Hall of Fame, which has found a permanent home on the north side concourse of Mosaic Place.
“Fan support so far has been overwhelming and it shows with our season tickets sales being over 3200,” added Nyhagen. “Together with our fans we will push to bring Planet Red to the forefront once again in the Western Hockey League.”
The Mosaic Company is presenting the game and will be handing out “Planet Red Warrior Glow Wands” to fans when they arrive, as well “Planet Red” t-shirts will be available for sale. Tickets for Friday’s Home Opener are still available at the Mosaic Place Box Office or by going online to www.mjwarriors.ca; season tickets packages are also available for purchase at the Warriors Office or by calling 694-5711.
