Prince Albert scored three goals in the third period 3:15 part, handing the Moose Jaw Warriors a 5-2 loss Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre.
The Raiders opened the scoring at 10:58 of the opening period; Evan Morden stretched the ice on a pass through the neutral zone to Mike Winther who led a rush across the Warriors line, Winther dropped passed to Anthony Bardaro who beat Moose Jaw goalie Daniel Wapple.
Early in the second the Tribe was able to respond with a power play goal at 5:57, Andrew Johnson went low right goal line to Torrin White who then made a beautiful back door pass to Travis Brown sneaking down the left wing, the goal was Brown’s first of the year and tied the game at one.
Prince Albert took the lead in the third period with a goal from Chance Braid at 2:05; Sam Fioretti tied the game at two after stripping the Raiders on a breakout attempt in their zone and beating goalie Luke Siemens on a breakaway.
The Raiders went back in front 3-2 at 6:09 on a goal from Dakota Conroy; former Warrior Shayne Gwinner made it 4-2 with a power play goal at 7:44; rookie Reid Gardiner finished the offence with a marker at 9:24, making it a 5-2 game.
The start was Daniel Wapple’s first of his career for the Warriors, he made 28 saves on 33 shots, and Luke Siemens made 25 saves in the win. Moose Jaw went 1-for-5 on the power play and 1-for-2 on the penalty kill. The Warriors will look to rebound Saturday when they battle Brandon at Mosaic Place; James Gallo has all the action on Country 100 starting with the PreGame Show at 6:40pm.
