This is the day that WHL teams build their foundations for the future upon. The Moose Jaw Warriors went into this year's draft without a first round pick (the Cam Braes trade at the deadline) but still had four picks in the first five rounds. The focus coming in was to build around the 1994, 95 and 96 group core already established. Another intention by the organization was to draft and develop at the goaltending position. The Warriors stuck to that philosophy taking a goaltender with their first selection of the 2012 WHL Draft in the second round. In all the Warriors drafted 11 players, a goaltender, five defenseman, five forwards, the complete list is below:
