Warriors Raise $9000.00 and Get Another Home Win!

Tonight the Civic Centre was covered in pink! It was the finale of the Warriors PINK Campaign that has been going on for the past two weeks. The Warriors displayed pink skate laces and stick tape in honour of Women’s Cancer Awareness month. 

 

The game started off with a goal from Brendan Rowinski with assists coming from McFaull and Hood. Stanton got the Warriors back on the board with a power play goal at 13:37. The WHL’s leading scorer, Cody Eakin came back firing with two goals to end the first period.

 

The Warriors found themselves down 3-2 early in the second. Nathan MacMaster brought the Warriors even at 8:05. Jason Bast with assists from his line mates, Howden and Frazee put the Warriors up 4-3. Frazee managed to sneak another past Sirard to make it a 5-3 game. Quinton Howden scored within minutes of the Frazee goal to double up the Broncos. Brendan Rowinski, with his second of the night sealed the deal with one final power play goal. 

 

The excitement didn’t end after the final buzzer tonight, Coach Hunchak and his son Brendan, Clinton Atkinson, Corey Scott, Spencer Edwards, Jesse Paradis and Jeff Bosch took a seat at centre ice to have their heads shaved. Fans donated throughout the night to try make the extra $500.00 needed for the Warriors to shave their heads.  The great people of Moose Jaw pulled in an extra $1000.00 to make a grand total of $9,000.00 for the Canadian Cancer Society. To make things even more exciting, the Warriors own Jesse Paradis, hair dresser extraordinaire shaved Coach Hunchak’s head. During the head shaving, the fans started a chant. The fans called upon captain Travis Hamonic to step up and shave his own head. After requesting for more donations for his hair; Travis raised an additional $500.00 and shaved his head. A big thank you goes out to everyone who joined the Warriors in their quest to help make cancer history!
