Warriors fall short in Brandon
The Moose Jaw Warriors erased a three goal deficit in the third period to force overtime, but eventually fell 7-6 to Brandon last night in a shootout. Jason Bast scored two goals in the third to force the overtime, and he finished with three points; Danny Gayle had a goal and two points; Chad Suer, Dylan Hood, and Spencer Edwards had one goal each; Thomas Frazee picked up to assists. Matt Calvert scored twice for Brandon; Brent Raedeke had a goal and three points; Toni Rajala had a goal and two points. Moose Jaw was 2/6 on the power play and 4/8 on the penalty kill. The Warriors drop to 23-15-2-3 on the year, and have points in eight straight games since returning from the Christmas break (14 of a possible 16 points have been captured). 
 
v. Prince Albert
Tonight is the 7th meeting of the season between the Warriors and Prince Albert Raiders. Moose Jaw is 5-1-1 against the Raiders. The Warriors have outscored the Raiders 35-29.

Warriors and Wheat Kings Pull off Blockbuster Trade
The Moose Jaw Warriors and Brandon Wheat Kings teamed up for one of the biggest trades during this season WHL trade deadline. Moose Jaw sent world junior defenseman and 2nd round pick of the New York Islanders Travis Hamonic to Brandon in exchange for 17 year old defenseman Dallas Ehrhardt, a 1st and 2nd round bantam pick in 2010, and a 2nd round bantam pick in 2011. Ehrhardt is the younger brother of former Warrior Travis Ehrhardt. Hamonic leaves the Warriors after close to four years of service; this season he had 10 goals and 39 points in 31 games.
 
 
Rowinski Player of the Week
Moose Jaw Warrior forward Brendan Rowinski was named the Boston Pizza Player of the Week. Rowinski had three goals and six points, helping the Warriors to a 2-0-1 record. Rowinski had a goal and two points in a 5-1 win over Medicine Hat; he scored one goal in the Warriors 5-2 win in Regina; he had a goal and three points in the Warriors 8-7 overtime loss in Prince Albert. Rowinski is currently the Warriors leading scorer with 26 goals and 49 points.
Milestone Watch
-        Warriors Captain Jason Bast’s iron man streak came to an end earlier this season. Bast missed November 18th against Calgary due injury, which was the first game he’d missed since October 21st, 2006. Bast played in 228 consecutive games. He played in his 300 games with the Warriors, and recorded his 100th career WHL game January 8th in Regina.
