Warriors come up short in Prince Albert
The Moose Jaw Warriors five game winning streak came to an end last Saturday with an 8-7 overtime loss in Prince Albert. Brendan Rowinski and Thomas Frazee led the Warriors with a goal and three points each; Dylan Hood scored two goals; Spencer Edwards and Quinton Howden had a goal and two points each; Kendall McFaull scored one goal; Connor Cox had two assists; Cody Smuk, Clinton Atkinson, Jesse Paradis, Nathan MacMaster, and Jason Bast had one assist each; Jeff Bosch made 32 saves in the loss. Dustin Cameron led the Raiders with two goals and four points; Craig McCallum had two goals and three points; Jordan Hickmott had a goal and four points; Brandon Herrod and Jordan Rowley had a goal and three points each. The Warriors were an impressive ¾ on the power play and 4/6 on the penalty kill. Prince Albert scored the overtime winner while on a power play.

Tonight is the 5th meeting of the season between the Warriors and Brandon Wheat Kings, and the first of two this week. Moose Jaw is 0-3-0-1 against Brandon and is 14-27-1-1 against the Wheat Kings in the last five years. Brandon has outscored the Warriors 21-7 this season. The two old rivals meet again Friday night in Brandon.
Antonin Honejsek leads the Warriors with two goals and three points against Brandon; Quinton Howden has two goals; Dylan Hood and Ryan Stanton have two assists each; Brendan Rowinski, Kevin Smith, and Cody Smuk have one goals each; seven players have recorded one assist; Jason Bast is pointless in one game against the Wheat Kings and is a -3; Jeff Bosch is 0-3-0-1 with a 4.39gaa and .833sv%.
Aaron Lewadniuk leads the Wheat Kings with four goals and eight points against the Warriors; Jay Fehr has two goals and seven points; Matt Calvert has a goal and six points; Toni Rajala has two goals and five points; Mark Stone has four goals; Scott Glennie has two goals and four points; Shayne Wiebe has a goal and four points; Andrew Hayes is 3-0 with a shutout and a 1.00gaa and .950sv%; Jacob De Serres is 1-0 with a 3.70gaa and .905sv%.
 
Warriors and Wheat Kings Pull off Blockbuster Trade
The Moose Jaw Warriors and Brandon Wheat Kings teamed up for one of the biggest trades during this season WHL trade deadline. Moose Jaw sent world junior defenseman and 2nd round pick of the New York Islanders Travis Hamonic to Brandon in exchange for 17 year old defenseman Dallas Ehrhardt, a 1st and 2nd round bantam pick in 2010, and a 2nd round bantam pick in 2011. Ehrhardt is the younger brother of former Warrior Travis Ehrhardt. Hamonic leaves the Warriors after close to four years of service; this season he had 10 goals and 39 points in 31 games.
 
 
 
Rowinski Player of the Week
Moose Jaw Warrior forward Brendan Rowinski was named the Boston Pizza Player of the Week. Rowinski had three goals and six points, helping the Warriors to a 2-0-1 record. Rowinski had a goal and two points in a 5-1 win over Medicine Hat; he scored one goal in the Warriors 5-2 win in Regina; he had a goal and three points in the Warriors 8-7 overtime loss in Prince Albert. Rowinski is currently the Warriors leading scorer with 26 goals and 49 points.
Milestone Watch
-        Warriors Captain Jason Bast’s iron man streak came to an end earlier this season. Bast missed November 18th against Calgary due injury, which was the first game he’d missed since October 21st, 2006. Bast played in 228 consecutive games. He played in his 300 games with the Warriors, and recorded his 100th career WHL game January 8th in Regina.
