Warriors Double Hurricanes
The Moose Jaw Warriors improved to 8-4 on the season with a 6-3 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes Sunday night at the Civic Center. Dylan Hood led the tribe with a goal and three points; Travis Hamonic, Chad Suer, Jesse Paradis, and Dylan McIlrath had one goal each; Cody Smuk and Spencer Edwards had two assists each; Antonin Honejsek, Thomas Frazee, and Brendan Rowinski had one assist each; Brandon Glover made 18 saves in the win. Cam Braes, Craig Orfino, and Austin Fyten scored for Lethbridge. The Warriors were 2/8 on the power play and 0/2 on the penalty kill.
 
v. Kamloops
Tonight is the only meeting of the season between the Warriors and Kamloops Blazer. The Warriors won their only meeting last season 8-4 in Kamloops. Moose Jaw is 3-1-1-0 against the Blazer in the last five years, posting a 2-0 record at home.
Travis Hamonic led the Warriors last season with a goal and four points against Kamloops; Thomas Frazee had a goal and three points; Ryan Stanton had two assists; Corey Scott had one goal; Jason Bast, Riley Reinbolt, and Kevin Smith had one assist each.
Shayne Wiebe had a goal and three points against the Warriors; Tyler Shattock had three assists; Dalibor Bortnak and C.J. Stretch had a goal and two points each; Jimmy Bubnick had one goal; Justin Leclerc was 0-1 with an 8.31gaa and .731sv%.
 
Bast WHL/CHL Player of the Week
Warriors overage forward Jason Bast was named the Boston Pizza WHL Player of the Week and CHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 11th. Bast had seven goals and 12 points and was +7 for the Warriors. Bast had two goals in the Warriors 9-6 win over the Regina Pats; he had a goal and four points in the 7-6 loss to Swift Current; he had a hat trick and four points in the 6-3 win over the Calgary Hitmen; he finished off the weekend with a goal and two points in the 4-2 win over the Kootenay Ice last Sunday
